If you like atmospheric awesome sludge doom sounding stuff, you're in luck. This band is doing something intense and I hope that they'll move beyond the extreme underground where they are now. Check 'em out!

Song of the Day
I'm not a huge Arch Enemy fan but I've always had a feeling that if I got off my ass and bought an album by them I would be. We Will Rise
P.S. Isn't Angela Gossow fucking intense?!

Inception: The Game
Way back in November 2010 Christopher Nolan expressed a desire to work on a video game set in the Inception universe saying that the medium of video games were "Something I've wanted to explore".
When it comes to video games and movie directors there are two schools of thought. One is that we should fawn all over them and lick their boots because they're big time movie makers deigning to lower themselves enough make a kids toy. The second view is that we shouldn't give them any attention because they are MOVIE makers. Not game makers.
In this instance I take a third view. I am very interested partly because Inception was a very good movie, but mostly because video games are just a medium in which to tell a story, and Nolan is an expert storyteller. He has said it will be a long term project and he's going to take his time with it. Once again, this is great. It's not a rushed film adaptation, it's a serious product by a mature story-teller who is giving the medium of video games the respect it deserves. We'll just have to wait and see.

Fallout Fan Film, Fantastic
You see what I did there? All the words in the title start with F. Anyway, Check out this great fan film based on the video game series fallout. For anyone unaware, Fallout is an RPG set in a wasteland after a nuclear war. I'm impressed with how great this looks. All the scenary and costumes are note perfect. Like most fan-films the acting is a littl iffy, and it's a little on the sillier side, but all in all this is a great piece of film-making.
P.S. I also posted this on my film blog, Unironical, http://www.unironical.blogspot.com/. That's my film blog, where I celebrate great films, and movie geekdom.

Awesome Animated Short
Normally I would post animated stuff on my film blog (unironical.blogspot.com) but this has so much to do with videogames I thought it belongs more on this blog where I throw everything else. It's a brilliant piece about the way video games are going and where they've been. Enjoy!
Lyric of the Day
There's going to be more on this blog than music stuff, I promise. Today's new feature is lyric of the day. Today's lyric is "If I was god, You'd sell your soul" From Pantera's The Great Southern Trendkill off of the album of the same name. Sweet.

Music Day!
I like music. It's one of those things that defines me a little bit as a person. I play guitar, though not as often as I should and not as well as I should. I like heavy music. I didn't always like heavy stuff, and at one point I straight up dismissed it, and maybe someday I'll explain how I got into it, but not today. Today I give a gift to you. A gift of Kvelertak.
These guys rock. Yes, they have some harsh vocals and I know that can be a turnoff if that's not your thing but give them a chance, because they're a monster of sound and energy. And you don't need to understand the vocals because they're in Norwegian anyway. I don't know how much I'll talk about music in this blog, but you can be sure that I'm going to post some sweet songs up for you to take a peek at.
